Niayai Lavien began her blog during the Summer of 2025 as an outlet to share all of her favorite things. Born to Liberian immigrant parents, Niayai Lavien is a political strategist, yoga teacher, lawyer and proud daughter of Charlotte, North Carolina.

She currently serves as the Party Affairs Director for the North Carolina Democratic Party where she works along critical stakeholders serving as a liaison between party infrastructure and external partners, and executing high level meetings. With nearly 10 years of experience, she has found her home in politics. Professionally, she is passionate about political representation, human connection, civic engagement and democratic empowerment.

Lavien is a self-proclaimed multi-hyphenate creating her own lane at the intersection of wellness, justice and creative expression. A RYT-200 yoga teacher, she is committed to her personal practice and expanding to teaching classes this fall. She loves holistic health, live music, new age spirituality, vintage shopping, and beauty.

From reflective essays and reviews her hometown favorites — to her must have makeup products and policy perspectives, this blog is about everyday things that resonate with Niayai. This blog serves as her own digital diary to capture her everyday life.
