EverydayNiayai’s Matcha Latte Recipe

Matcha is having a moment. If you don’t know what it is, matcha is high quality green tea powder. Made of ground Japanese green tea leaves, it is used in a variety of desserts and beverages. It is known for it’s distinct, vibrant green color. I love matcha because it has many benefits for you mind, body and soul. It gives you energy through its caffeine content, alleviates anxiety through its anti-inflamatory properties, and stimulates weight loss through its antioxidants.

It has a earthy and mild taste and the tea is often enjoyed hot or iced. I love to sweeten my matcha with honey to support my solar plexus chakra. I like adding vanilla bean paste into my matcha lattes because it compliments the nuttiness of the drink.

Buying high quality matcha can be kind of daunting. And measuring it to be the right consistency without the fancy, schmany tools can be intimidating. That’s why I love the individual packets of matcha powder you can pick up from Trader Joes. You get seven packets for $8 and can have your newest fun drink all week long.

Every afternoon, I find myself in the kitchen gathering the ingredients and tools to make this everyday drink. I love making matcha for myself at home, particularly, as apart of my afternoon ritual to decompress after work. I close my laptop, meditate, make a matcha and change for the gym. Matcha energizes my workout and prepares my body.

My daily matcha latte is my favorite part of the day and it can be your favorie part of your day too! Steal my recipe below and let me know if an everyday matcha latte is going to be apart of your afternoon rituals.
